Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle makes landfall near Coen

The Northern Territory’s Top End has been left “absolutely saturated” by the “severe” Tropical Cyclone Narelle as the system approaches the coast.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall in Far North Queensland on Friday, March 20, before tracking westward toward the eastern Northern Territory over the weekend.
Tropical cyclone Narelle is set to make landfall earlier and more forcefully than expected, impacting Far North Queensland and parts of the Northern Territory. Narelle is reported to have reached category 5 intensity almost 12 hours before it was originally predicted for 10pm on Thursday (Brisbane Times).
