Philadelphia International Airport announced Wednesday it was temporarily closing two more Transportation Security Administration checkpoints due to ongoing TSA staffing shortages

Additional security checkpoints at PHL are closed as a partial government shutdown affecting TSA drags on.

The public is experiencing the consequences in long wait times at some airports as more TSA officers take time off to earn money on the side or cut back on expenses.

Travelers reported waiting more than two hours to get through TSA checkpoints at the world’s busiest airport.

Some passengers said they arrived hours early, unsure how long it would take to get through security. For most, it wasn't a long wait.

Two more terminals will be closed starting on Wednesday at Philadelphia International Airport. On March 18, travelers will not be able to pass through the TSA checkpoints at Terminals A-West or F, the airport said.

The Transportation Security Administration has closed a couple of security checkpoints in Terminal 4 at Sky Harbor Airport due to staffing issues.
